The design of broadcast and AV video products continue to be the majority of our work, and 2008 was no exception. At both NAB2006 and NAB2008 our designs won both design and innovation awards.

We designed an underwater battery operated HDTV monitor - for use by professional videographers. We also designed a series of HD-SDI LCD monitors, HD digital to analog YUV converters, video frame averager for military applications, and an low cost HDTV pattern generator with real voice audio channel IDs.
This is the official patch for the MIR Space Station. We designed a Quad Split display for the European Space Agency to increase the number of video channels between the ground and the MIR. Although the MIR is no longer flying, the product lives on as a very successful Quad Split video product. 
 
What's Old?

We call ourselves the "Pixel Tamers", and to challenge this title we were asked to design a replacement LCD for the early daylight readable LCD's used in Boeing 757 cockpits. In 2008 we will develop LCD replacements for CRT's.

As the migration continues toward HDTV we've developed products to bridge the transitions from SD to HD. These products may enable the use of legacy displays, or provide test signals to confirm performance of new HD-SDI paths.

Many of Comtech's latest product designs focus creating HDTV video products. These range from test generators to a variety of LCD displays. We are also able to take standard definition (SD) or high definition (HD) serial digital feeds and scale, de-interlace, and frame-rate convert any input format and target any LCD/DLP/Plasma display resolution.

Comtech continues to design converter products to help our clients offer the broadcaster state-of-the-art analog decoding - and format converters.

Also, important in our design portfolio are those products targeted to use CAT-5 cable for transporting high resolution RGBHV/YUV video  along with stereo audio channels, and bi-directional serial data streams to distances approaching a thousand feet or more.
